I was at an open air car wash. There were a few more cars to be washed before my turn. So I stood under the shade and waited.
A couple came in a big car, one of those most expensive cars in town at that moment. Apparently the couple had another car sent for washing.
The man came out from the car with his sunglasses, proudly looking around. He saw me and reluctantly nodded. He was someone I knew.
So I said Hi. He walked to me and we chatted for a while. He said business was bad and workers were hard to find. Even the existing workers left for other companies. He did not know why they left. I said nothing, just listening.
Then the wife came out from the car. She walked to another luxury car which has been washed. She swiped her fingers on the bumper.
She was obviously not happy. She shouted for the workers. One worker quickly rushed to her. She scolded him for not cleaning her car well. It was still dusty, she said.
The poor worker used a towel to wipe the whole car again. When she was done the woman ran her fingers on the bumper again and said nothing.
She then signal her husband to leave. Both of them drove away in separate cars.
It was hot and the car wash was beside a busy road. Dust was expected. I found the answer as to why their workers left them but I would never tell them!
Life Lesson 101: If we have bad attitude, don't expect others to be kind!
